IT IS A FIRE ESCAPE APPARATUS, MAINLY COMPRISES A DRIVING-AND-DRIVEN SPROCKET ASSEMBLY (1), A PLURALITY OF RUNGS (2), A CHAIN ASSEMBLY (3), A GEAR BOX (4) AND A CENTRIFUGAL BRAKE ASSEMBLY (5). THE APPARATUS IS TO BE INSTALLED IN A CHUTE (4) FURNISHED IN A HIGH BUILDING BY FIRST INSTALLING A BASE (6) FOR MOUNTING AND SUPPORTING OTHER PARTS OF THE APPARATUS. THE CHUTE IS FURNISHED WITH A PLURALITY OF ESCAPING APERTURES (B) ALONG THE CHUTE (A); EACH OF THE APERTURES FACES ONE FLOOR OF A HIGH BUILDING TO LET THE RESIDENTS OF THE BUILDING TO EVACUATE INCASE OF EMERGENCY. WHEN AN ESCAPE ENTERS THE APERTURE, HE (OR SHE) CAN DIRECTLY STEP ON ONE OF THE RUNGS (2), AND THEN THE RUNG WILL BE MOVED DOWNWARDS BY THE CHAIN ASSEMBLY (3) AS A RESULT OF THE ESCAPEE'S WEIGHT. SINCE THE APPARATUS HAS A CENTRIFUGAL BRAKE ASSEMBLY (5), THE DESCENDING SPEED OF THE CHAIN AND THE RUNGS ARE CONTROLLED AT A SAFETY SPEED DESIRED SO AS TO AVOID ANY DANGER, AND TO HAVE EVERY PERSON ESCAPED SAFELY.
