System for the simultaneous transmission of analog television signals in one direction and remote commands in the opposite direction along a single optical fibre and with a single pair of transceivers

The system consists of a set of elements which make it possible to transmit along a single optical fibre, on the one hand, an audio and video television signal collected from one or more filming systems and sent to a monitor and, on the other hand, to transmit a considerable number of different remote commands such as those for traversing, elevation, zooming, and switching from one television camera to another, capable of operating in accordance with the images received. The invention is based on the combination of a property of gallium arsenide with the use of a fraction of the vertical synchronization time of a television signal necessary for sending signals in the direction opposite that of the TV signal itself. The system makes it possible to use a single medium for receiving images and sounds and for transmitting remote commands, thus overcoming any limitation related to the regulations for installation of electrical cables, thus decreasing the costs of this.
