The device for generating vibrations consists of two eccentric masses which rotate about non-coaxial shafts at the same or at different - or at any rate variable - speeds. This makes it possible to produce a broad range of vibrations of various types, forms and frequencies by means of which all the fruits hanging from a tree can oscillate in resonance. The shaking device in which the vibration generator is employed is particularly suitable for use on olive, almond and other similar fruit trees. For references see Fig. 5a.
