The new invention to which this patent application relates is characterized by a system for washing reagent dyes on a perforated roller characterized by a completely automatic operating unit controlled by a microprocessor which manages and controls all the stages of washing on the basis of programmes which have previously been stored in memory and designed appropriately on the basis of the articles, quantities and dyes used, and a particular conformation of the drilled holes in the washing roller as a result of which the water can pass through the roll of fabric uniformly and at all points, achieving optimum washing of both woven and knitted fabrics, thus eliminating the defect encountered with the old selvage and top and tail centre systems.
