In the electrolysis of a lead acetate solution with an anode of a metal of group IB, VIB or VIIIB of the periodic system of the elements, of an alloy of these or of a non-metallic conductor such as graphite, carbon or carbon fibres, preferably in the presence of additives, a thin, compact and bright film is deposited on the anode, which makes the composite which is formed particularly suitable for making junction diodes and/or surface insulators.
