The process enables packets to be routed from a node (Q) of a packet-switching communication network. At each slot and in each node (Q), and for each of the possible modes of connection between the inputs and the outputs of the node, the sum of the priority values associated with the outputs of the node is calculated according to the destinations of the packets arriving at the node, and the mode of connection of the inputs to the outputs which corresponds the maximum value, or a maximum value, of the said priority sums is implemented.
