Systemic pesticidal compsns. suitable for application to plant stems contain methamidophos (I) and a solvent (II) which has low volatility, low phytotoxicity, low toxicity for humans and good penetrative ability. Pref. the compsns. contain 400-600 g/l of (I) together with 0.35-0.7 wt.% of a colourant, esp. 'Waxoline Blue', and 0.1-3 wt.% of a UV absorber, esp. ethoxylated p-aminobenzoic acid. (II) is a polyhydric alcohol, esp. glycerol, hexylene glycol or a polyalkylene glycol, or a nonionic surfactant, esp. an ethoxylated alkylphenol.
