The roof sheeting is supported on a rectangular hollow extruded rib (6) which has longitudinal slots (5) formed in its upper surface. A fixing device (1) has a narrow neck (4) with shoulder bar (3) and is inserted lengthwise in the slot (5) for turning 90 degrees to secure it in the rib. A pair of legs (7) biased towards each other have clip teeth (8). Roof panels (15) are seated on sealing strips (11) with resilient lips (12), and secured in position by a rigid cover strip (2) clipped into the securing device (1) by tabs (9). Resilient sealing strips (13) ensure stability and watertightness.
