FLUID DISTRIBUTOR IN A PRESSURIZED RESERVOIR PREVENTING THERMAL STRATIFICATION

ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE:A device preventing thermal stratification in a supply pipeis disclosed. Cold water introduced with a low flow rateinto a duct filled with hot water circulates in the bottomthereof and accumulates at its end. It is only dischargedat the end of the distributor where its pressure is highest.The immiscible hot water is located elsewhere and highthermal stresses appear on the distributor at the interfacebetween two layers. The distributing tubes or the actualduct are provided with cuts favouring the upstream flow.This device is very suitable for steam generators of nuclearpower plants.
