ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSUREA process for the treatment of aqueous effluentcontaining cyanide and toxic heavy metals, wherein theeffluent is contacted with a sufficient amount of hydrogenperoxide to oxidize at least a substantial portion of thecyanide in the effluent in the presence of sufficienttrimercaptotriazine to react with a substantial portion of themetal present in said effluent, and precipitating said metalcomponent.
