-20-HIGH PERFORMANCE, THERMALLYINSULATING MULTIPANE GLAZING STRUCTUREAbstract of the DisclosureMultipane, insulating glazing structureshaving exceptional thermal insulation performance areprovided. The novel multipane structures comprise twosubstantially parallel rigid glazing sheets spaced apartby an interior spacer of a low thermal conductivity,closed cell, foamed polymer. In a preferred embodiment,the glazing sheets are present in a four-pane structurefilled with an inert gas and sealed with agas-impermeable, continuous tape overlaying a curable,high modulus sealant. Methods for manufacturing thenovel glazing structures are disclosed as well.
