摘要
ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSUREA computer aided software engineering tool is disclosedwhich is particularly well adapted to identity potentialAssembly language source code errors resulting from theanalysis of statements which do not contain incorrectsyntax, limits, operand specification, etc.; i.e., do notcontain any errors of the type which can be generallycategorized as incorrect usage. This objective is achievedby providing a debugging program which has a completeawareness of the specific machine architecture, such as thefunction of each instruction and the register(s), flags, etc. it affects. By essentially stepping through theAssembly language statements in much the same manner as acomputer would while executing the correspondinginstructions, the debugging program is able, through suchsimulation, to identify, in the Assembly language programunder study, specific potential inconsistencies withprevious operations which the debugging program has beencoded to detect and, upon such detection, to issue anappropriate warning message. The programmer may thenexamine the flagged Assembly language code to determine if agenuine error exists.
