Mineral wool shaped bodies for insulating parts of buildings, in particular outer walls or roofs, are generally provided with inner or outer linings with a vapour barrier consisting of aluminium or plastic foils, gypsum plaster boards, wooden panelling or cast layers, clinker coatings or the like. In order to simplify the production of mineral wool shaped bodies, and thus the material and work for the whole insulation, a layer of clay minerals is incorporated into the surface of the shaped bodies.
