A random copolymer comprises recurring units each having the formula of; wherein R¹ to R¹⁰ stand for a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group with or without R⁵ being bonded to R⁶ or R¹⁰ via an alkylene group having 1 to 3 carbon atoms. The random copolymer contains 50 to 90 mol % of ethylene. The random copolymer has an intrinsic viscosity [η] of 0.3 to 10 dl/g measured in decalin at 30°C.
