In nuclear spin resonance measurements, all the (spin echo) signals are influenced by the transversal relaxation time T2. Said time constant effects an asymmetry in the resonance signal (::exp(-t/T2). The time T2 can be determined from the asymmetry of the echo signals. When determining a nuclear spin density distribution, it is possible to determine the value of the time T2 per pixel. The imaginary expressions (in the coordinate direction of the measuring gradient) are integrated in accordance with the Fourier transform of the resonance signals. The quotient of the running integral and of the real term of the assigned pixel provides an accurate measure of the time T2 in said pixel. …IMAGE…
