Device for measuring the yarn length of the yarns drawn off from a warp beam of a warp knitting machine, having a tension roller which bears by means of a pivoted arm against the yarn on the warp beam and drives a signal generator for transmitting length signals which represent a measure of the yarn length drawn off from the warp beam. The tension roller is mounted on a lever, which is pivoted on the pivoted arm and prestressed in the direction towards the warp beam, in such a way that the tension roller rotates the lever away from the warp beam in its tensioned state and onto the warp beam in its raised state, it being the case that a limit switch - actuated by the lever - mounted on the pivoted arm assumes one of its switching positions (e.g. closed) in the tensioned state, and its other switching position (e.g. open) in the raised state, into which position the limit switch passes when the pivoted arm of the warp beam is pivoted away during the rotary movement of the lever when the tension roller is still bearing against the warp beam. …IMAGE…
