The cannula closure member comprises a cap-shaped member having a proximal end and a distal end, a portion of the cap being substantially rigid, an element which restricts the passage of the free ends of the cannula outside the cap, this restricif element being connected to the distal end of the cap; a mounting device for releasably holding the cap around the cannula in a first position wherein the cap covers the free end of the cannula, said mounting means allowing the cap to be removed to expose at least the almost entire length of the cannula; and the substantially rigid portion of the cap can be moved by an external force from the first position to a second position in which the free end extends through the restricted passage and only partially out of the cap, the substantially rigid portion being held in the second position after removal of external force.
