The subject of the present invention is a transducer, for emitting low-frequency acoustic waves, including two electroacoustic drivers (1) aligned on an axis (xx'), these drivers being placed on either side of a central countermass (2) coaxially inside a hollow cylindrical case (5), covering the entire said drivers (1) as far as the end horns (3) of the latter and being filled with the said liquid (4). The said case (5) is made of an elastic pressure-withstanding material and includes a circular peripheral opening (6) in the vicinity of its mid-plane; the dimensions of this opening, as well as the characteristics of the said case, are defined such that, by means of the elastic couplings of the case (5) with the liquid mass located in the said opening (6), the Helmholtz frequency of the cavity (7) defined by the case is close to the fundamental frequency of the axial vibrations of the assembly constituted by the said electroacoustic drivers (1), the said countermass (2) and the said horns (3).
