Machine, of the type including a main chassis capable of rolling above the two lines of rails of a railway track and fitted with a plurality of disc grinders 26 articulated to this chassis so that the disc 26 of each grinder rests via its periphery on the rail, while making an angle with the horizontal direction of the said rail, characterised in that each grinder 26 is mounted fixed on an arm 19 articulated to a support 12 so as to be displaced freely about an axle 21 perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the track, in that the said support 12 is itself mounted in a secondary chassis 7 with capacity for pivoting about an axis parallel to the longitudinal direction of the track and in that this assembly is mounted in the main chassis by means 8-11 allowing the assembly to move up and down with respect to the track.
