A packaging element, especially for packing and transporting a stack of printed, consists of a woven material or in the form of tear-resistant sheet, cut so as to have a rectangular receiving surface of newspapers or magazines. The four sides of the rectangular receiving surface are each provided with a rabatable mounting surface. The four fixing surfaces may be connected at least partly to each other by releasable fasteners, to form the packing element with the cut piece of material and fixing the stack. A mounting surface has two integrated elements grip used to remove the package from a conveyor belt and in particular to avoid the risk of injury during handling.
