A marine anchor (1) comprising a tab (8) and a rod (3) connected thereto to be buried by hunting in a mooring bed (63) by substantially horizontal traction of the rod (3). In addition, the anchor is characterized by two possible operating modes, the line (5, 6) extending between the cable attachment point (4A, 4B) on the rod and the mass center of the tab (7 ) varies so as to have a first line (5) for disposal by flushing the anchor (1) and a second line (6) used when the anchor is buried. The tensile force applied to the anchor by means of the rod (3) may at that time be exercised essentially upwards, resulting in increased retention force due to the increased surface area of the tab opposite to the force directed upwards. One can obtain the change of direction of the first line (5) to the second line (6) by rotating (Fig. 9) the rod and including a pivot control means (26, 29) permitting selective pivotal the rod (3). An alternative is to have two separate cable attachment point (4A, 4B) on the rod (3) with, as a first example (Fig. 1) two separate cables secured at said points (4A, 4B), the two operating modes the anchor being formed by use of the first cable and the second, or as the second example (Fig. 6), by movement of the single anchor cable (64) with a guide (11) of a first attachment point (4A) to a second point.
