TRANSDERMAL CONTROLLED DELIVERY OF PHARMACEUTICALS AT VARIABLE DOSAGE RATES AND PROCESSES

The invention relates to transdermal polymer dosage units comprising a backing layer and a reservoir layer. The reservoir layer may comprise several parts coming into contact with the skin in use, it may optionally contain different pharmaceutical products, it can produce a variable degree of transdermal absorption, and it allows to introduce pharmaceuticals in the form of micro -réservoirs or one or more macro-tanks. The reservoir region may comprise a macro-reservoir containing one or more pharmaceuticals, the reservoir being limited by a backing layer and a layer of a polymer membrane substantially non-porous and controlling the permeability, that directly or indirectly in contact with the skin during transdermal administration. A method of transdermal administration of pharmaceuticals of using these new dosage units is also described.
