The turn table boomerang apparatus of a microwave oven and control method therefor comprises a key detector for detecting a key signal, a door open/close detector for detecting the open/close state of a microwave oven door, a microprocessor for controlling a whole system, an analog-to-digital (A/D) converter for converting an analog signal varying with a variable resistance to a digital signal, a comparator for comparing the output of the A/D converter with a turn table stop position value, a turn table stop position detector for detecting a turn table stop position, a cooking completion detector, and a turn table motor driving controller for driving a turn table motor, thereby stopping a turn table at a constant position.
