A transmission of compact construction particularly suitable for use on a crawler mini shovel car having a boom mounted on a front portion of the vehicle body and an engine and a transmission mounted on rear portions of the vehicle body, the transmission essentially including: an input shaft (24) disposed within a transmission case in a longitudinal direction of the vehicle; FR transmission shafts (36) rotatably provided on the opposite sides of the input shaft in parallel relation therewith and coupled with the input shaft through gears; a worm gear (G9) provided at an end portion of each FR transmission shaft; and a worm wheel (G10) meshed with the corresponding one of the worm gears on the FR transmission shafts and mounted on each of worm wheel shafts coupled with left and right crawler drive shafts through reducing gears.
