FIELD: organic chemistry. SUBSTANCE: the hydrocarbon raw stock containing C2-C5-olefins is made to contact with an absorbent at -10-80 C, a raw stock feed rate of 0.1-25.0 kg/hr. The contacting is carried out at a pressure that allows the process to be conducted in a liquid phase. An absorbent is used which has a specific surface area of 102-195m2/g and has the following components (wt % ): 17.7-70.0 metallic nickel and nickel oxide; and a carrier up to 100. The metallic nickel to nickel oxide weight ratio is (0.40-2.37): 1. The carrier is selected from the group consisting of kieselguhr, aluminium oxide, silicon oxide, titanium oxide, a silicon oxide-aluminium oxide mixture, a silicon oxide-magnesium oxide mixture and an aluminium oxide-titanium oxide-magnesium oxide mixture.
