The invention proposes a solution by means of which a towbar-force measuring device which is arranged in the force path of the towbar displacement force of a towbar which couples two vehicles enables more precise detection of the towbar displacement force. Arranged in the force path of the towbar displacement force is a piston which, when a towbar displacement force is acting, applies pressure to a fluid volume which is enclosed in a housing chamber. The pressure is monitored by a sensor device which emits pressure-dependent signals.
