The invention relates to a method and tools for the cold, warm and hot transversal extrusion of workpieces with accurate teeth, preferably from steel. The method is characterised in that a cylindrical blank or a thick-walled ring, the outside or inside diameter of which corresponds approximately to the base-circle diameter of the toothed body, is pressed radially into the toothed die or onto the toothed mandrel. The pressing forces are applied by means of a cylindrical, untoothed ram or hollow ram and corresponding counter rams. The method can be carried out either cold, warm or hot. The advantages of the method reside in the simple tools and in the saving of time, materials and energy compared with other production methods. The method has been explained in greater detail with reference to illustrative embodiments and descriptions of production tools.
