Method of corrosion protecting the metallic piping of a water transport system consists of adding peroxide together with phosphate and/or silicate to the soft water. 0.1-20 g/m3 peroxide (calculated as H2O2); 0.1-7 g/m3 phosphate esp. orthophosphate (calculated as P2O5) and/or 0.2-50 g/m3 silicate (calculated as SiO2) are added to the water in amounts set by legislation. USE/ADVANTAGE - In a drinking water system. The peroxide ensures the rapid formation of oxide on the pipe wall which acts as a good form of protection against further corrosion. Less chemicals have to be added to the water which is better for the environment
