A procedure for separating emulsified components from water by partial floatation makes use of a mixing device, an aeration device and a floatation vessel. After the separation by floatation the water passes through at least two clean-water tanks. The pH in the second clean-water tank is adjusted. A combined pH-controlled water flow from the two clean-water tanks is produced and passes to the mixing device via the aeration device, and from there back to the reaction vessel. Also claimed is an apparatus for carrying out the procedure. USE/ADVANTAGE - Used for example in separating emulsified hydrocarbons from water.
