Personal computer peripheral sharing method for network - has serial and parallel interfaces with selector switches at each PC on twisted pair cable network

The network sharing method is provided for a network having a number of PC computers (1) connected by a network of cables (5) to shared peripherals (4). Each PC (1) is equipped with an interface card (2) with a channel select circuit (21). The interface card is connected to a serial V24/RS232 port or a parallel printer port. The RS232/Centronics interface is converted to a serial interface, and switched by selector switch (21) to one of three twisted pairs in cable (5). Each peripheral has an interface card (3) which connects to the serial network (5) and receives serial or parallel input (RS232/Centronics). USE - Small computer network system installations.
