The aircraft has a passenger and/or cargo carrying body (4) supported in flight by wings (2) formed with downturned tips (3). In planform the wings increase in width towards the tips (3). The space (12) beneath the intersection of the wings and tips acts as parachute to give vertical buoyancy. The aircraft has a vertical lift propeller (7), and a horizontal drive propeller (8) for forward motion. The body (4) is suspended below the wings (2). The wings may be made of light metal, wood, synthetic material, glass fibre, laminated material, or carbon fibre material. The aircraft can be used in a public transport system. USE/ADVANTAGE - The shape of the wings and tips create buoyancy to give stability and safety to the aircraft. The non-traditional construction of the aircraft is advantageous for public transport.
