The geometric ratio of the redn. in vol. of gaps between teeth up to the instant of closure after the induction stroke, to the vol. of the gaps at the instant of opening to the outlet channel, is adjusted by displacement of the outlet control surfaces or variation of the opening time. The adjustment is worked out from a mathematical expression involving the previously measured temps. of evapn. and condensation at known pressure. The operation may be either manual or automatic. ADVANTAGE - Energy consumption is reduced by matching of internal compression to working pressure ratio.
