The driving member (15) and the driven member (5) rotate about the same axis and are coupled together by spherical torque transmission elements (11) driven by spring washers (12) into opposite axial and radial openings (18, 19) in the respective members. The spring tension is adjusted by an inner pressure ring (7) and nut (8), and is overcome for disengagement purposes by a permanent magnet or electromagnet (26) which holds the spherical elements clear of one or both series of openings. USE/ADVANTAGE - At rotational speeds above 3000 rev/min. clutch remains disengaged after attainment of limiting torque, without wear or transient peaks of torque.
