Automatic computer-controlled protection of plant esp. of nuclear power station - uses computer network for redundant collection and processing of plant input signals and for delivery output signals e.g. adjustment commands to systems
In automatic protection of a plant (esp. nuclear power station) using a computer network for redundant collection and processing of input signals from the plant and for delivering output signals in the form of actuation and/or adjustment commands for an adjustment system when predetermined criteria are fulfilled, the novelty is that (a) analog and/or binary information, which provides anomaly-significant plant process variables (partial criteria, PKi), is produced from the input signals via signal evaluation stages (SBS, VSA-VSD) in at least two multichannel diversified computer system s(C1-C2); and (b) the partial criteria are fed to one or more signal sequencing stages (SVS, PSI-PSIII) which use the information of the partial criteria (PKi) to produce a fault-, breakdown- or situation-significant activation criterion (AK, AI-AIII) as an opt. time-dependent function (AK(t)-f(PKi)) of the partial criteria (PKi), the criterion (AK) acting as the key value for selection of the best suitable counter-measures. (B) Equipment for carrying out the above process is also claimed. ADVANTAGE - The process allows use of activation criteria and a subsequent refined prioritisation, even when complex high quality digital process control is employed, and esp. employs the advantages of digital technology so that requisite safety margins can be reduced while maintaining or even improving reliability.
