A torsion rod is located between measurement shaft connections. The ends of the rod can be coupled to each end of the shaft. Lever arms (5,8) connected to both measurement shaft connections are linked to connecting rods rigidly attached at their remote ends to further lever arms (11,15) connected by a shaft (14). The further levers are coaxial with the first lever arms. One (8) is connected to its coaxial further arm (15) via a force measurement yoke (22). The other (5) of the first lever arms is adjustably connected to its coaxial further arm (11) via a linkage. USE/ADVANTAGE - Enables accurate calibration of torque measurement shaft without errors caused by unrepresentative flexural torque exerted on measurement shaft.
