The boxes are moved into a chute and the detected build-up force is compared with an ideal value. When this ideal value is exceeded, filling process is temporarily interrupted. The detector (20) is mounted near lower removal opening (14) of chute (11) and has leaf spring supporting stack. When spring is deformed by build-up force this is detected by path sensor which has spring-loaded displaceable piston which forms switch for cutting of conveyor drive. USE/ADVANTAGE - Bottom boxes in stack are prevented from being damaged by excessive pressure from above.
