The pseudo elastic properties of Fe-Ni alloys contg. 20-35 wt.% Ni are adjusted using a thermo mechanical process involving homogenisation for 15-25 hr. at 900-1200 deg.C, hot-deformation at 90-1100 deg.C,m immediate cooling to below the age-hardening temp. of min. 500 deg.C, and age-hardening at 500-650 deg.C. USE/ADVANTAGE - Used in the development of materials for components used under dynamically demanding conditions and for e.g. glide elements for winter sports appts. Pseudo elastic properties are maintained in the alloy over numerous load/unload cycles.
