Gearbox for converting rotationally symmetrical movement into translatory motion - has cross-slide supporting longitudinally sliding carriages whose free ends span cross over break before their centres reach same.
The slide rails (10) mounted on a cross slide (1) engage with two longitudinally movable sliding carriages (2). During movement the free end of the sliding carriage has bridged the cross-over break before the centre point (mg) of the carriage has reached the cross-over. The outlet edges of the slide carriages are substantially parallel in the direction of movement. The cross carriage (1) pref. has two cylindrical bores arranged in a cross to produce the slide tracks in which the slide carriages move. The slide carriage can have a gear rod on an end side driving a pinion which drives a second gear rod in the opposite direction.
