The holder secures parallel plastics heat-exchanger tubes (2) in spaced rows in a frame (10). The latter contains plastics distance-pieces (11) fitting part-way round the tubes. Each distance-piece comprises parallel thin-walled sleeves (11) in the plane of the frame and joined together. These enclose and grip the tubes. The sleeves can be welded together at a temperature suitable for their material, and under pressure. They can be of round cross-section, and the ratio of their length to their external diameter can be between 1.2:1 and 1. 8:1. ADVANTAGE - Easy assembly and dismantling, less liability to vibration in high-speed water currents, and completely resistant to corrosion.
