The boring head is adjustable in dia. over a small range using hydraulic pressure. It has a baseplate (11) to which a flange an the base of the drill shaft (12) is bolted (52). The cutting tool (18) is fastened near the end of the shaft. The shaft has an eccentric cylindrical blind bore (24) with an enlarged portion at the open end facing the baseplate. It accommodates a piston (28) with a rod (26) pressing against the end of the blind bore and itself having a blind bore. There is a plug (32) in the open end of this blind bore.
