Profiled strips (22,31) round the edges of the plates (18,29) have a cross-sectional area (23,32) protruding from the plate with a circular arc contour extending over 200 deg. The edge contour of one strip has an external edge contour and that of the second strip an inner edge contour. At least this inner edge contour (33) is elastically deformable. The plate elements are cut to the desired shape and then fitted with the profiled strips which are cut off to the desired length from extruded sections. The centre (24,34) of the edge contours lies in the central plane (25,35) of the plates. USE/ADVANTAGE - The plates can be built up into containers of variable formats yet can be dismantled and stacked for return transport.
