In a process for dressing the welding beads between the corners of a plastic profiled section abutting against a further frame section, the frame is held on a table and moved to the processing position. The frame is held by two centring units which move at 45 deg. to the abutment section and grip it centrally before moving it together with the welded, adjoining outer frame edge against a stop face parallel to the latter. Both centring units are retracted before the two bead processing tools are moved towards the beads, one after the other. The bead dressing machine comprises a holding table with a stop face and two or more bead dressing tools. Two centring units are located on a rotating disc below the frame holding table at 90 deg. to each other. The centring units move along their respective centring axes and their common centre axis. Bead dressing tools are carried on a rotatable tool plate mounted on the disc at an angle of 90 deg. or more to one of the centring units. The stop and disc are adjustable relative to each other.
