A measurement object in a measurement volume is exposed to hf excitation pulses within a homogeneous magnetic field B directed parallel to a z-axis. On the homogeneous magnetic field B for scanning the n-dimensional k-space with regard its strength and/or duration, altered gradient fields, partic. phase coded gradients are superimposed stepwise . After each hf-excitation pulse within at least one time domain detection window, an NMR signal with at least one measurement value is received from the measurement volume. Measurement value points of an n-dimensional matrix are provided in the K-space. By means of n-dimensional Fourier transformation, from the n-dimensional matrix in the k-space, an n-dimensional image in the local space is obtained. After each HF excitation pulse, only those measurement values are received, which are accurately associated with a point in the K-space. Between the Hf-excitation pulse and the beginning of the detection window, accurate n-phase coded gradients (GPH1) are applied, which determines the point in the K-space.
