The goods such as groups of clothes on hangers are stored temporarily in the parking area (P) and then loaded in one stroke onto the support beam (4). Each hook is guided onto the parking member which is set parallel to but spaced from the support beam. The relative movement between the beam and parking member is produced by drives. The parking member (P) is set above the plane in which the beam is located during the relative movement and preferably rises in the removal direction of the hooks. The hanging conveyor path (H) has a rail or twin-track buffer section (F) with spaced parallel rails (1a,1b) in the loading area (B).
