The water with solvent lost during the washing cycle is replaced with a vol. of water from the rinsing circuit. The vol. of water taken from the rinsing circuit is replaced with fresh water. A channel (13) with a pump (8) is pref. between the rinsing water container (7) and the washing water supply container (1), as a branch from a channel taking the rinsing water to a spray (6). A filter (15) and a control valve (16) are in the course of the channel (13) to control the fluid level in the supply container (1). The rinsing water supply container (7) pref. has a channel with a control valve (11), connected to the fresh water mains supply, to control the fluid level. USE/ADVANTAGE - The removal is for cleaning metal plates, etc., before painting, using water contg. phosphate to remove dirt and esp. oil or grease residue. The operation requires fewer changes of the rinsing water, with an unchanged rinsing capacity.
