The compartment (10 is heated by air blown (19) through an exhaust-gas heat exchanger (18) and a sorption reactor (20) filled with zeolite or similar material producing heat by adsorption of moisture. A pref. cross-flow heat exchanger (27) gives up heat from the reaction chamber (21) to the air (28) drawn by a fan (29) from the outlet duct (23) after passing through two adiabatic humidifiers (13,14). Energy utilisation is improved by the connection of the air outlet channel (12) to the inlet duct (22). ADVANTAGE - Quantity of heat predetermined by amt. of zeolite can be utilised fully for space heating.
