Print carrier to transfer motifs to e.g. hard smooth surfaces - consists of paper substrate, release layer which can be sepd. when hot, and transparent top ink carrier contg. adhesive
Carrier consists mainly of a carrier paper, a heat-sepd. release layer and an ink carrier applied to the last layer. The ink carrier consists of a transparent heat-sepd. chalk substrate and glue. The release/sepg. layer is pref. a polyethylene adhesive. The print carrier is pref. based on an 80 g/m2 paper which is coated with a polyethylene adhesive to some 5 g/m2, this layer being detachable when hot. A 2nd coating is applied on top, in which the glue used allows the still wet material to be pressed against a polished drying cylinder. This produces a flat matt finish. The suitable materials for printing are partic. metal or metal-coated surfaces, glass, acrylics, ceramics, PCBs, etc. The print carrier with its ink carrier is pressed on to the printing material for 3-15 secs. under 20-300 bars pressure. Temps. up to 100-220 deg.C can be applied to the print carrier which can be used as an endless belt. ADVANTAGE - The print carrier concerned is particularly suitable for printing on hard smooth surfaces. It is preferably used in mechanical printing processes.
