Charge accounting and identification of telecommunications terminal user - involves terminal reading identification number from inserted chip or magnetic card and transmitting number to telecommunications system for validation and charging
Charge accounting and identification of telecommunications terminal user - involves terminal reading identification number from inserted chip or magnetic card and transmitting number to telecommunications system for validation and charging
A personal identification number is stored in an integrated circuit (KS) on a plug-in chip card. When the chip card is inserted into the terminal device (T) the number is read and transmitted to a telecommunications system (PABX). The transferred number is compared in the telecommunications system with stored identification numbers to identify the user. When the number has been validated and service provided, a charge meter adds the charges incurred to a user specific charge account. A magnetic card could be used instead of a plug-in chip card. ADVANTAGE - Very simple and convenient telecommunications terminal device user identification and charge accounting.
