Roll bearing unit includes inner ring parts (3,4) which have inclined surface (11,12) on their facing sides (8,9) defining an open ring area (13). A connection ring (5) is located in position where its ends (14,14a) can be snap fitted into recesses (22) in the inner ring parts and a central protruding part (5) can be forced into the area (17) when the roll axis(25) is in place. The volume of the part (19) is approx. equal to that of the area (13). The ring (5) has several protruding parts (14,14a) along its length in a staggered attern with respective gaps (23) between each pair of protrusions. The surface (16) of the protrusions (14,14a) is inclined at an angle (2) to the bearing axis (17). ADVANTAGE - Provides a good seal between the inner ring parts thereby preventing oil or grease leakage from the bearing.
