The crash barrier system for use along a roadside has information display elements located at periodic intervals e.g. 50 metres that are clearly seen by vehicle drivers. The barrier is produced in coupled section from strips (1) that have a profiled cross section that have mechanical rigidity coupled with a centre channel that provides a mounting point for the display units (4). Carriers (5) with projecting claws latch into slots formed along the barrier. The carriers also have additional claws that engage the open inner surface of the display units.
